Managing the books at companies large and small falls to the accounting department, and within that department are accountants, payroll officers, payroll clerks, and bookkeepers – each with different levels of training in accounting.
If you’re looking for hands-on accounting training in Toronto, look no further than CDI College’s Accounting & Payroll Administrator diploma program.
Accountants and Payroll Administrators
The Accounting & Payroll Administrator program at CDI College is largely focused on providing you with a background in general accounting, bookkeeping, income tax fundamentals, and payroll.
In the program, you will learn one of the most popular accounting software programs: Sage 50 Accounting, which is used by professional accountants across Ontario every day.
You’ll also receive additional training in office administration, and broaden your skills in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Program Duration:
40 weeks
Hands-on Accounting Training
Before you graduate from the Accounting & Payroll Administrator program, you’ll meet with our Employment Services department, who can help you make the transition from student to employee.
These career services professionals will help you prepare for the future, with resume writing assistance and job interview preparation, ensuring you’ll be ready to start your new career quickly.
An added bonus from the Accounting & Payroll Administrator program is the classes meet the core and elective course credit requirements for the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) Certified Payroll Management Program (CPMP) at the level of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP).
In order to challenge for the certification, you need to fulfill the CPA’s Work Experience Requirement (WERA), and have a passing program grade of at least 65%, which includes completing a transfer credit for Introduction to Accounting. Visit www.payroll.ca for more information on CPA requirements.
