CDI College's Medical Laboratory Assistant diploma program combines theory-based study and hands-on learning to prepare you to find employment in a medical lab setting. This program covers a wide range of subjects including medical terminology, clinical laboratory practices, anatomy, physiology, laboratory math, biology and chemistry.
You will also gain a broad understanding of laboratory microbiology and hematology. In addition, you will also learn about safety procedures, ethical behaviour and legislation related to this profession.
Program Duration:
36 weeks
Prior to graduation, you must complete a clinical placement in a laboratory setting outside of the campus. Career opportunities for graduates of this program exist in private diagnostic testing, public health, hospitals, quality control, veterinary labs and physician's offices or clinics.
